B & B opened its doors in August of 2018 and has been servicing the northern Virginia region ever since. Originally based out of Sola Salons, B & B transitioned to a larger studio space just down the road at Allure Salon Suites in 2020 and finally opened a storefront in downtown in early 2022! Our team specializes in blonding services, bridal hair, and hand tied extensions.

Stylists

Rachel started taking hair classes in 2013 and has been a licensed hairdresser since 2015. After spending a year assisting and doing hair on the side, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to further her education with a new foundation from the Toni & Guy Academy. There she studied directly under cutting master David Evans (National Creative Director) and award winning colorist Courtney Greenday.

In 2017, Rachel moved back to Virginia and accepted a job working behind the chair at a high end salon in north Stafford. By summer of 2018, she had transitioned into salon ownership by opening Bangs & Boujee Salon Studio where she took clients 4-6 days a week and traveled some weekends for weddings. In 2021 she expanded to a boutique storefront in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. She now takes clients 4 days a week, trains her assistant 2 days a week, and runs all of the behind the scene operations that come with a full service salon and growing team!

Rachel’s continuing education includes hands on techniques and classes from Lisa Walker, Emmanuel Andrade, Victor Valverde, Mariah Cloke, Judith Viola, Nicole Higgins, Sarai Speer, and many others. She has graduated from the BBC Master boot camp class, is Brazilian Blowout Certified, Systeme Volume Extension Certified (currently not offering this service), hand tied extension certified, and a Halo Couture Extensions distributor. Her specialties include hand tied extensions, color corrections, and blonding services.

Julia started her cosmetology journey in the Fall of 2018, following her graduation from high school in her home state of Illinois. She has been a licensed hair stylist since February 2020. During her final year of cosmetology training she assisted at a boutique salon in Frankfort, Illinois where she later started her career behind the chair. Over the last 3 years, she has attended various classes with educators from Lanza, Eleven Color, and Patricia Nowakowski to further her education and skill set. One of these being the Grace Hand-Tied Extension class, where she became certified in hand tied extensions. She has always had a passion for hair but more specifically blonding services, lived-in color, and extensions. In her free time Julia frequents local coffee shops for an iced white mocha and loves a good target run. Julia moved to the Fredericksburg area in February 2022 with her husband and joined the Bangs & Boujee Salon team in shortly after settling in!

Mia has been a licensed stylist since January 2023 and has actively worked in the beauty industry since 2021. She is certified in hand-tied extensions, which showcases her dedication to her craft, and she has a deep passion for blonding, creating lived-in color, and making her clients feel confident and beautiful when leaving the salon. Throughout her career, she has pursued numerous advanced education opportunities to enhance her skills, with her favorite being the hands-on techniques she learned from the renowned stylist Wayne Tuggle. In her free time she favors spending time with her husband, son, and her dog, Leeroy.

Skyler has been a licensed cosmetologist with three years of professional experience, complemented by an additional three years as a shampoo technician and assistant. A lifelong lover of hair and makeup, she is passionate about learning and taking on new challenges. Born in Germany and having lived there for ten years, her early life as a military brat until age 15 instilled in her a unique perspective along with adaptability. Skyler is also a proud pet parent to two ferrets, Bonnie and Clyde, and an avid music lover of all genres. Known for her caring and fun personality, she strives to make her chair a safe and welcoming place for everyone. Specializing in blondes, balayages, and vivids, Skyler aims to create stunning and vibrant looks for each of her clients.

Kaity has always had a passion for everything hair and makeup, so it only made sense for her to enroll in the Paul Mitchell School shortly after high school. She graduated and attained her cosmetology license the beginning of 2022 and has been behind the chair learning and growing ever since. She started her first job immediately and has worked hard to progress in all things hair related. Her specialties include many forms of highlighting, cutting and styling. She wants anyone who sits in her chair to feel listened to, at ease, and trusting they will leave looking radiant and feeling amazing! Some of the continuing education has earned her a Brazilian Blowout Certification, a Certified Makeup Artist, and is Certified in Lash Extensions. Kaity grew up in a military family and has lived in many different homes over the years with her favorites including Oahu Hawaii and Monterey Bay California. A favorite day of Kaity’s would include listening to True Crime, watching dramatic shows with her boyfriend and, of course, giving lots of love to her cat Freya!

Sydney began her cosmetology journey in 2022 at Hornet Cosmetology at Orange County High School in Orange, Virginia. Sydney spent her junior and senior years studying cosmetology and building her natural talents. She went on easily to earn her cosmetology license in May of 2024. Sydney is a third generation hairstylist, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother who are both cosmetologists and have the same love of the beauty industry. It’s safe to say it’s in the genes! Sydney loves all things coffee, Gilmore Girls, and loves deeply any and all animals. When she’s not working, you can find her spending time with her family, her boyfriend, loving on her sweet dog Casey, or reading a good book. Sydney started working at Bangs and Boujee Salon as an assistant under Rachel in July of 2024, and is ecstatic to be a part of this beautiful team.

Alexa has been the friendly face greeting clients for over a year at Bangs & Boujee Salon. With an associate’s degree in business administration and ongoing studies at Liberty University, she seamlessly blends business acumen with her passion for customer service. When she’s not welcoming guests, Alexa loves living life to the fullest. You’ll often find her laughing with her girlfriends at happy hour, exploring new travel destinations, indulging in some retail therapy, or enjoying playful moments with her two pups Canton and Lola.
