Boutique Salon in the heart of Fredericksburg

B & B opened its doors in August of 2018 and has been servicing the northern Virginia region ever since. Originally based out of Sola Salons, B & B transitioned to a larger studio space just down the road at Allure Salon Suites in 2020 and finally opened a storefront in downtown in early 2022! Our team specializes in blonding services, bridal hair, and hand tied extensions.

Stylists

Rachel started taking hair classes in 2013 and has been a licensed hairdresser since 2015. After spending a year assisting and doing hair on the side, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to further her education with a new foundation from the Toni & Guy Academy. There she studied directly under cutting master David Evans (National Creative Director) and award winning colorist Courtney Greenday.

In 2017, Rachel moved back to Virginia and accepted a job working behind the chair at a high end salon in north Stafford. By summer of 2018, she had transitioned into salon ownership by opening Bangs & Boujee Salon Studio where she took clients 4-6 days a week and traveled some weekends for weddings. In 2021 she expanded to a boutique storefront in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg. She now takes clients 4 days a week, trains her assistant 2 days a week, and runs all of the behind the scene operations that come with a full service salon and growing team!

Rachel’s continuing education includes hands on techniques and classes from Lisa Walker, Emmanuel Andrade, Victor Valverde, Mariah Cloke, Judith Viola, Nicole Higgins, Sarai Speer, and many others. She has graduated from the BBC Master boot camp class, is Brazilian Blowout Certified, Systeme Volume Extension Certified (currently not offering this service), hand tied extension certified, and a Halo Couture Extensions distributor. Her specialties include hand tied extensions, color corrections, and blonding services.

Julia started her cosmetology journey in the Fall of 2018, following her graduation from high school in her home state of Illinois. She has been a licensed hair stylist since February 2020. During her final year of cosmetology training she assisted at a boutique salon in Frankfort, Illinois where she later started her career behind the chair. Over the last 3 years, she has attended various classes with educators from Lanza, Eleven Color, and Patricia Nowakowski to further her education and skill set. One of these being the Grace Hand-Tied Extension class, where she became certified in hand tied extensions. She has always had a passion for hair but more specifically blonding services, lived-in color, and extensions. In her free time Julia frequents local coffee shops for an iced white mocha and loves a good target run. Julia moved to the Fredericksburg area in February 2022 with her husband and joined the Bangs & Boujee Salon team in shortly after settling in!

Jennifer started her cosmetology career in the Fall of 2017, after graduating from high school in her hometown of Staten Island, New York. She has been a licensed hair stylist since August of 2018. She started her first salon job assisting for a high end salon in Brooklyn, New York. In August of 2019, Jennifer moved to North Carolina with her husband and has been behind the chair ever since. Over the last 3 years, she has attended many educational classes taught by Aveda and Modern Salon educators to further her techniques. She enjoys all things hair, but especially blonding services, dimensional color, and vivids. In her free time, Jen loves to spend time with her 2 dogs and host pasta nights with her friends! Jennifer moved to Fredericksburg in 2022 and is so happy to be a part of the Bangs & Boujee Salon team!

Haley began her career in the beauty industry in August of 2021, and she has been a licensed hair stylist since May of 2023. During her journey in Cosmetology School she joined the Bangs and Boujee Salon team where she began her journey behind the chair. Over the last few years, she has attended various classes with educators from Hanzo and Eleven Color to further her education and skill set. One of which being the Aqua Hand-Tied Extension class, where she became certified in hand tied extensions. Haley has always found a passion in hair, but specifically lived-in color, blonding, and extensions. Haley was born and raised in Fredericksburg, where she is surrounded by her big family and two dogs. A fun fact about Haley is that she was a Barista for three years, so she is always down to chat about a good cup of coffee!

AdministrativE team

Emma has been working in the customer service field for 7+ years! She earned her associates degree in Business Administration from Germanna Community College in 2020. She has worked in the social media field creating content for multiple businesses in the spa, salon and restaurant industry. She joined the Bangs & Boujee team in April of 2023 and has been enjoying all the business aspects of the salon industry! When she is not working at Bangs & Boujee, Emma is hitting all the restaurants in Downtown FXBG, binge-watching reality competition shows (hi survivor fans!) and spending too much money at Target! She can’t wait to see you in the salon!

Lisa has been working in customer service positions for 8 years in various industries, including retail, food service, and banking. She was born and raised in Stafford, VA, and is very familiar with the downtown Fredericksburg community! When she’s not working at Bangs & Boujee, Lisa enjoys reading, crocheting, and watching The Office with her dog, Rosa, and husband, Michael. While her go to coffee house drink of a choice is an iced chai there is very little this Hufflepuff would not do for a Dr Pepper.
